Cliff Side RecycleMa
Quick story.
Last Saturday, we had a half an hour left in the day so we decided to pass for a few investigators houses to invite them to church. Along the way, we saw an old lady lugging huge bags of cardboard and plastic and glass bottles. She had a giant bag strapped to her back and one in each hand. Obviously we had to help her. I told her we were going to help her and asked where she lived. She told us no because she lived ´´arrrrrrriba´´. I was like well it can´t be that far if she was going to try to lug all that stuff by herself. It was that far. We started in the city and somehow ended up in the mountains. My bag kept ripping every five minutes and the bag my companion was lugging ripped every five seconds. Cardboard and bottles everywhere. We ended up tying the stuff together with out jackets. I kept asking her if her house was close and she kept saying ´por allá no más´. It was not ´´por allá´´ I was dying laughing because the scene was just so hopeless. We got to a point where we had to walk on a teeny tiny dirt path diagonally up a steep side of a mountain. The lady was 75, but she was booking it up this mountain. We finally got to the top of this peak and I hear someone shouting behind me. My comp. It was really dark and I could barely see, but all I saw was hear laying down 20 feet below me. I thought she was taking a rest, and was like what are you doing, we need to go, but then I realized that she need help so I ran (carefully) down to help her. Turns out she had fallen off the side of the path trying to reach a bottle that had fallen out of her bag, she was hanging on to the grass trying not to slide down off a cliff-side. I reached down to pull her up, but she says, ´no this first´ and hands me the beer bottle that was the cause of her almost death. I was like what and we started laughing again. I almost could not get her back onto the path again because I was dying. And then after that when we were finally close to the house of the lady we got swarmed by a thousand dogs. I almost chucked a rock a one, and the lady is like ´´no that one is my dogs friend´. Whaaaaa? jaja It was a weird night, and my companion and I haven´t stopped laughing for three days. and now i know the word for cliff in Spanish
Til next time,

Neuvo Ano
Hola Everyone! I hope you all had a very merry Christmas with your fams!
Everything is all good here in Cuenca. Today it´s like everyone is preparing for the Purge. Christmas we didn´t really see anything, it was like a normal day. But with the new year, people are going nuts and I love it. We are not allowed to leave the house tonight and its a bummer. There are about a million huge paper machete dolls in the streets, music is pumping louder than ever, and every five minutes you hear a bomb go off in the street and the all of the car alarms go off. And we are in the sierra, where its more tranquilo. I can´t imagine what its like right now in my hometown, Santa Rosa.
Who wants to come back to Ecuador with me next year and celebrate in the coast?? jaja #butweonlydrinkmorocho #chuchaqui
